Here is my display case of beadwork with my ribbonWhoooo Hoooo! I had decided to put in simply a display case at the Fair this year of my beadwork. With some prodding by family, they convinced me to enter a beadwork case as a judged entry at the fair. Well...I have been working on a "body of beadwork" for a year now, and I put some of my favorite pieces into the display case. I really was hopeful, but not thinking I would win anything since it is my first ever entry and judging is rather strict. Judging was yesterday and any names, or identifying companies etc...cannot be in the case while there is judging going on, so I planned to bring my business card and business flyer today and also check to see if I got a ribbon. Well.........NO....NO ribbon in my case, so I was disappointed. Not for long because Violet the 'keeper of the ribbons' told me that I had indeed won a first place blue ribbon award, she hadn't put it in my case yet. I'm a happy camper today. They judge on a point system based on quality, workmanship, showmanship, neatness and a variety of other things, and even if there is only one beadwork entry in a class, you have to have the right number of points to win first second or third place, sooooo guess what? I managed to win it. Whoooo Hooooo!
